This is mostly the northeast region of Costa Rica in the Limon province. The capital city is Limon. The annual average rainfall is over 200 inches, so, it is one of the rainiest areas in the country. That is why the vegetation is so green and exuberant. An impressive waterway system runs from Limon City through a huge rain forest area all the way down to Tortuguero National Park and Barra del Colorado Wildlife Refuge. It is an area worth to visit because of the high diversity of wildlife and the amazing views of the tropical rainforest.
